It's Live: The Metaphor of Gender is Here
A new kind of resource for gender-questioning youth has officially launched
After years of private conversations, clinical work, and deep listening, I’ve finally taken another big step into the public space. And this time, I’m speaking directly to young people.
The Metaphor of Gender is my new YouTube channel for gender-questioning youth and is officially live!
This channel is for thoughtful, curious young people who are grappling with identity in a world that says, “you might be born in the wrong body.”
I say, “Wow, that’s a powerful metaphor!”
The channel will help adolescents to understand themselves more deeply while learning discernment, psychological universals, and reflecting on their complexity and humanity.
Here’s the channel: The Metaphor of Gender on YouTube
Start with the first video in the intro series: The Metaphor of Gender: A New Way to Think About Identity
The videos are short and engaging, but grounded in years of clinical experience. I offer language, insight, and metaphors that resonate with adolescents—I give the viewer the benefit of the doubt and speak to their aspirational qualities. And I’ll pose a lot of thought provoking questions and examples along the way.
This project means a great deal to me. It's the culmination of thousands of therapy hours and hundreds of parent consults. It represents what I’ve learned actually works when trying to reach gender-questioning youth.
If you’re a parent:
Please download and read the Parent Guide 📄
It outlines multiple low-pressure, non-confrontational ways to help your child find this resource—regardless of how skeptical or guarded they may be.
For everyone else:
You know how hard it is to reach young people who are stuck in polarized narratives. This channel was built to do just that. Please consider helping me get it in front of the right eyes.
Ways you can support the launch:
Watch and like a video — early engagement signals value to YouTube’s algorithm. If you can watch the entire intro series, even better
Leave a comment — even a short one helps boost visibility
Share — with parents, group chats, therapy practices, or any networks that might find it meaningful
Subscribe — so you’re notified when new videos are posted

Thank you for believing in a more thoughtful, hopeful, reality-based path of personal identity development.
This is just the beginning, and I truly believe we can make a difference.
With appreciation,
Sasha
Looks like an interesting project. Good luck with it
